Description

The ECM (electrochromic inside rearview mirror) darkens the reflection of light in the rearview mirror. The front sensor detects ambient brightness, while the rear sensor detects light from behind. The light intensity at the rear sensor is used by the mirror to adjust the dimming. It varies from 7 to 85%. When reverse gear is engaged, it stops operating.
  1. The forward-facing sensor determines whether the surrounding environment is dark enough for the mirror to perform its function.
  2. The rear sensor detects glare reflected from the vehicle behind.
  3. The ECM dims to the level determined by the rear view sensor. When glare is no longer detected, the mirror stops functioning. (1. Green status LED, 2. ON/OFF switch, 3. Rear view sensor, 4. Front sensor)

Auto-Dimming Function

To protect your eyesight during night driving, your mirror automatically dims when glare from vehicles behind you is detected. The auto-dimming function can be controlled with the dimming ON/OFF button:
  1. Press and hold the function control button for more than 3 but less than 6 seconds to turn off the auto-dimming function, indicated by the green status LED turning off.
  2. Press and hold the function control button again for more than 3 but less than 6 seconds to turn on the auto-dimming function, indicated by the green status LED turning on.
