Power Adjustment

~3min read

The front seat can be adjusted using the control switches located on the outside of the seat cushion. Before driving, adjust the seat to the correct position so that you can easily reach the steering wheel, pedals, and instrument panel controls.

WARNING

NEVER leave children unattended in the vehicle. The power seats operate when the vehicle is off.

NOTICE

To prevent damage to the seats:

  • Always stop adjusting the seat when it has moved as far forward or rearward as possible.
  • Do not adjust the seats for longer than necessary when the vehicle is off. This may cause the battery to drain unnecessarily.
  • Do not operate two or more seat switches at the same time. This may cause an electrical malfunction.

Reclining Seatback

Sitting in a reclined position while the vehicle is moving can be dangerous. Even when buckled up, the protection of your restraint system (seat belts and airbags) is significantly reduced by reclining the seatback.

WARNING

NEVER ride with the seatback reclined while the vehicle is moving.

Riding with the seatback reclined increases your chance of serious or fatal injury in a collision or sudden stop.

The driver and passengers must ALWAYS sit comfortably in their seats, properly belted, with the seatbacks in the upright position.

The seat belts must fit snugly against the hips and chest to function properly. When the seatback is reclined, the shoulder belt cannot perform its function because it will not fit snugly against your chest. Instead, it will be positioned in front of you. In a collision, you may slide under the seat belt, resulting in neck or other injuries.

The more the seatback is reclined, the greater the chance that the passenger's hips will slide under the lap belt or the passenger's neck will strike the shoulder belt.
