Towing Services

[A]: Dolly
If emergency towing is required, we recommend that it be performed by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer or a commercial towing service.
Proper lifting and towing procedures are necessary to prevent damage to the vehicle. The use of wheel dollies or a flatbed is recommended.
On two-wheel drive vehicles, it is permissible to tow the vehicle with the rear wheels on the ground (without a dolly) and the front wheels off the ground. If the wheels or suspension components are damaged, or if the vehicle is towed with the front wheels on the ground, use a towing dolly under the front wheels.
When towing with a commercial towing service and wheel dollies are not used, the front of the vehicle must always be raised, not the rear.
If your vehicle is all-wheel drive, it must be towed using a wheel lift and dolly, or a flatbed trailer, with all wheels off the ground.
NOTICE
An all-wheel drive vehicle must never be towed with its wheels on the ground. This may cause serious damage to the transmission or the all-wheel drive system.
NOTICE
• Do not tow the vehicle with the front wheels on the ground, as this may cause damage to the vehicle.
• Do not tow using slings. Use a wheel lift or flatbed equipment.
WARNING
If your vehicle is equipped with a rollover sensor, turn the ignition switch to the OFF or ACC position when the vehicle is being towed. The side curtain airbag may deploy if the sensor detects the situation as a rollover.
When towing the vehicle in an emergency without wheel dollies:
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position.
2. Place the shift lever in N (Neutral).
3. Release the parking brake.
CAUTION
Failure to place the shift lever in N (Neutral) when towing with the front wheels on the ground may cause internal damage to the transmission.
