Repair Procedures

Inspection

  1. Raise the vehicle using a lift.
  2. Remove the under cover. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Engine Compartment Under Cover")
  3. Loosen the oil filler cap (A).
  4. Check the oil level.
  5. Install the filler cap.

    Tightening torque: 58.9 ~ 78 N·m

  6. Install the under cover. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Engine Compartment Under Cover")

REPLACEMENT

  1. Raise the vehicle using a lift.
  2. Remove the under cover. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Engine Compartment Under Cover")
  3. Drain the oil from the manual transaxle by removing the drain plug (A), then install the drain plug with a new gasket.

    Tightening torque: 58.9 ~ 78 N·m

  4. Fill new oil through the filler hole. Oil standard: API Service GL-4, SAE 70W. Recommended oil (SHELL: SPIRAX S6 GHME 70W, SK: HK MTF 70W, GS CALTEX: GS MTF HD 70W). Oil capacity: 2WD: 1.7~1.8 (0.44~0.47 US gal, 1.79~1.90 US qt, 1.49~1.58 Imp qt); 4WD: 1.6~1.7 (0.42~0.44 US gal, 1.69~1.79 US qt, 1.41~1.49 Imp qt).
  5. Install the filler plug (A) with a new gasket.

    Tightening torque: 58.9 ~ 78 N·m

  6. Install the under cover. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Engine Compartment Under Cover")
