REPLACEMENT

  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  2. Remove the headliner. (Refer to Body - "Roof Trim")
  3. Remove the sunroof motor (A) after disconnecting the connector and loosening the screws.
  4. Remove the sunshade motor (A) after disconnecting the connector and loosening the screws.
Sunroof Reset: While opening/closing the sunroof, if the battery is discharged or disconnected, when replacing the related fuse, or when the sunroof has been operated with the emergency handle, the sunroof must be initialized as follows.
  1. After ALL ON, use the CLOSE switch to fully close the sunroof glass and roller shade.
  2. When the glass and shade are fully closed, release the CLOSE switch, then press and hold the switch (about 10 sec.) until the glass and shade move slightly once.
  3. Release the CLOSE switch, then press and hold the switch again; the glass and shade open and close in the order below, and the sunroof reset process is complete. Opening with sliding shade → tilt-up opening, open with sliding, then close → slide and shade close. ※ If the CLOSE switch is released while performing the above operation, the reset process is canceled and you must return to step 1 and start the process again.
  4. The SCU (sunroof control unit) determines the motor operating time.
  5. The motor can operate continuously for operating time T1 (120 ± 10 s).
  6. The motor operates continuously for T1, then stops and enters cooling time T2 (18 ± 2 s).
  7. The motor then does not operate during cooling time T2 (18 ± 2 s).
  8. After T2 has elapsed, the motor operates again for the duration determined by T3.
  9. The operating motor stops after operating time T3 (10 ± 2 s).
  10. The motor does not operate during cooling time T4 (18 ± 2 s).
  11. The motor repeats T3 and T4 during continuous operation.
    • If the motor is not operated continuously, the operating time, which is limited to prevent overheating, increases.
Motor Overheat Protection: To protect the sunroof motor from overheating caused by continuous operation, the sunroof control unit monitors operating time and cooling time.
