Components and Component Location

1. Crankshaft Damper Pulley

Remove the right front wheel. (Refer to Suspension System - "Wheel")

Remove the drive belt. (Refer to Valve Timing System - "Drive Belt")

Remove the engine undercover. (Refer to Engine and Transaxle Assembly - "Engine Undercover")

Remove the crankshaft damper pulley (A).
Tightening torque: 196.1 ~ 206 N·m (20.0 ~ 21.0 kgf·m, 144.7 ~ 151.9 ft-lbf)
NOTE
- Do not press or apply excessive force to the pulley to prevent deformation of the rubber part.
NOTEThere are two methods for holding the ring gear while removing the crankshaft damper pulley.
- Install the SST (09231-2B100, 09231-3N100) to service the ring gear after removing the starter.
- Install the SST (09231-3D100, 09231-2W100) to service the flywheel after removing the service cover.
1. Remove the transaxle mounting bolt (A) and the service cover (B) at the lower part of the oil pan.
2. Remove the transaxle mounting bolt (C) at the lower part of the lower housing.
3. Adjust the length of the bracket (A) so that the grooves of the support engage the ring gear (B) at the nearest position.
4. Adjust the angle and length of the fittings (C) so that the two transaxle mounting bolts can be tightened into the original mounting holes.
5. Install the SST with the two transaxle mounting bolts. Securely tighten the bolts, bracket, and mounting nuts.

To install, perform the removal procedure in reverse order.

Inspect the crankshaft damper pulley for oil or dust deposits on the rib area while rotating it to check for vibration. Replace if necessary.
