Inspection

Perform the following procedure to check that the ECM function is operating normally.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
  2. Cover the front sensor.
  3. Direct light at the downward-facing sensor.
  4. The ECM should darken as soon as the downward-facing sensor detects a certain level of brightness.
  5. Otherwise, the ECM should not darken. When light is directed at the downward-facing and upward-facing sensors, the ECM should not darken.

DEPOSIT

  1. Remove the mirror wiring cover (A).
  2. Disconnect the mirror connector (A).
  3. Remove the mirror (A) by pulling it in the direction shown by the arrow below.

REMEDY

  1. When installing the mirror, be careful not to damage the mounting bracket.
  2. Install the mirror wiring cover and the sensor panel after reconnecting the connector and tightening the screw.
