Recommended SAE Viscosity Grades

Engine oil viscosity affects fuel economy and cold-weather operation (engine starting and oil flow).

Low-viscosity engine oil provides better fuel economy and better engine performance in cold weather, while high-viscosity oil is necessary for the required level of engine lubrication in hot conditions.

Using oils with viscosity grades other than those recommended may cause engine failure.

When selecting the oil type, take into account the temperature range in which the vehicle will be operated until the next oil change.
