Exhaust Manifold Repair Procedures

Removal and Installation

   Remove the engine cover.

   Disconnect the negative battery cable.

   Tightening torque: 3.9 ~ 5.9 N·m

   Disconnect the front oxygen sensor connector (A), then remove the sensor from the bracket.

   Remove the front muffler (A).

   Tightening torque: 39.2 ~ 59 N·m

   Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield (A).

   Tightening torque: 9.8 ~ 11.8 N·m

   Remove the driveshaft heat shield (A).

   Remove the exhaust manifold support (A).

   Tightening torque: 39.2 ~ 49 N·m

   Remove the exhaust manifold (A) and gasket (B).

   Tightening torque: 29.4 – 34 N·m

   

   When installing the exhaust manifold, first tighten the nuts to the preliminary torque, then tighten them to the specified torque in the sequence shown.

   Installation is the reverse of removal.

   When installing, replace the gasket with a new one.
