Inspection

  1. Ignition switch ON
  2. 2. Manually operate the control switch and measure the blower motor voltage.
  3. Select the control switch to raise the voltage to high speed.

    Second Speed 5.1 ± 0.5 V
    Third Speed 6.2 ± 0.5 V
    Fourth Speed 7.4 ± 0.5 V

    Sixth Speed 9.7 ± 0.5 V
    7th Speed 10.8 ± 0.5 V
    8th speed Battery

    *AUTO COOL: Automatic speed (4.5 V to B+) * AUTO HEAT: Automatic speed (4.5 to 11.0 V)
  4. If the measured voltage does not meet the specification, replace the power MOSFET with a known good power MOSFET and check for proper operation.
  5. If the problem is resolved, replace the power MOSFET.

Replacement

  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  2. Disconnect the power MOSFET connector (A), then remove the power MOSFET (B) after loosening the mounting screws.
  3. Install in the reverse order of removal.
