Using Seat Belts During Pregnancy
In this manual: Safety Features of Your Vehicle
~1min read
Seat belts should always be used during pregnancy. The best way to protect your unborn child is to protect yourself by always wearing your seat belt.
Pregnant women must always wear the shoulder belt. Place the shoulder belt over the chest, between the breasts and away from the neck. Place the lap belt low, below the abdomen, so that it fits snugly and as low as possible across the hips, not over the stomach.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of serious injury or death to the unborn child in a collision, pregnant women should NEVER place the lap portion of the seat belt above or over the abdominal area where the unborn child is located.
