Inspection

  1. Ignition switch OFF
  2. Disconnect the temperature control actuator connector.
  3. Make sure the temperature control actuator operates in the hot position when 12V is applied to terminal 3 and terminal 4 is grounded. Make sure the temperature control actuator operates in the cold position when the polarity is reversed. [Drive Vehicle]

    Max. Cool 0.4 ± 0.15 V Low voltage: 0.1 V or less
    Max. Heat 4.6 ± 0.15 V High voltage: 4.9 V or more

It transmits the current position of the actuator to the control unit.
  6. If the measured voltage does not conform to the specification, replace the temperature control actuator with a known good one and check that the operation is correct.
  7. If the problem is resolved, replace the temperature control actuator.

Replacement

  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  2. Remove the left side airbag cover (A).
  3. Remove the extension cover (A).
  4. Remove the lower airbag cover (A).
  5. Disconnect the diagnostic connector (A).
  6. Remove the reinforcement panel (A).
  7. Remove the shower duct (A).
  8. Disconnect the temperature control actuator connector (A).
  9. Loosen the mounting screw and remove the temperature control actuator (B). [Driver]
  10. Remove the right extension cover (A).
  11. Disconnect the damper (A) from the glove box (B).
  12. Remove the glove box lift (A).
  13. Disconnect the spring (A), then remove the glove box (B).
  14. Remove the passenger airbag panel (A).
  15. Remove the glove box housing (A).
  16. Remove the shower duct (A).
  17. Disconnect the temperature control actuator connector (A).
  18. Loosen the mounting screw and remove the temperature control actuator (B). [Passenger]
  19. Install in the reverse order of removal.
