START/STOP Ignition Button

  1. OFF
  2. ACC
  3. RUN

The ignition button can be placed in the following modes:

OFF

  • Engine is off.
  • Some electrical devices (such as central locking, alarm, etc.).

ACC

  • Engine is not running.
  • Some electrical devices are available.

RUN

  • Driver position.
  • All electrical devices are available.

START

  • The engine will start.

NOTE:

If the ignition does not switch when the START/STOP ignition button is pressed, the battery in the key fob may be discharged or depleted. In this situation, the backup method can be used to operate the ignition lock. Place the nose of the key fob (the side with the mechanical flip key) against the START/STOP ignition button and press to operate the ignition lock.

  • Do not use the mechanical key against the START/STOP ignition button.
  • Do not use sharp metal objects (such as a screwdriver, etc.) to remove the button from the ignition switch. This button is installed as an assembly and is not removable. This may damage the silicone screen.

Do Not Use the Mechanical Key

  • When leaving the vehicle, always take the key fob with you and lock the vehicle.
  • Never leave children alone in a vehicle, or with access to an unlocked vehicle.
  • Allowing children to be in a vehicle unattended is dangerous for many reasons. A child or others could be seriously or fatally injured. Children should be instructed not to touch the parking brake, brake pedal, or gear selector.
  • Do not leave the key fob inside or near the vehicle, or in a location accessible to children, and do not leave the vehicle with the Keyless Enter-N-Go system in the ON/RUN position. A child could operate the power windows, other controls, or move the vehicle.
  • Never leave children or animals inside parked vehicles in hot weather. Interior heat buildup may result in serious injury or death.

NOTE:

  • When the driver's door is opened with the ignition in the ON/RUN position (engine not running), a chime will sound to remind you to place the ignition in the OFF position. In addition to the chime, the message "Ignition or Accessory On" will be displayed in the instrument cluster.
