ROOF RACK — IF EQUIPPED
NOTE:
The roof rack is intended for hard-top models ONLY.
The load on the roof when equipped with a roof rack must not exceed 100 lbs (45 kg), including the weight of the crossbars, and it must be evenly distributed across the cargo area.
Crossbars must always be used whenever cargo is carried on the roof rack. Check straps often to make sure the cargo remains securely fastened.
NOTE:
Crossbars can be purchased from an authorized dealer or through Mopar® parts.
Roof racks do not increase the vehicle's maximum load carrying capacity. Make sure the total number of passengers and cargo inside the vehicle, plus the load on the roof rack, does not exceed the vehicle's maximum load carrying capacity.
- To avoid damage to the roof rack and vehicle, do not exceed the roof rack's maximum load capacity. Always distribute heavy loads as evenly as possible and secure the load accordingly.
- Long loads that extend beyond the windshield must be secured at both the front and rear of the vehicle.
- Place a blanket or other protection between the roof surface and the load.
- Drive at reduced speeds and turn corners carefully when carrying large or heavy loads on the roof rack. Wind forces, from natural causes or close passing of trucks, may cause sudden lift. It is recommended not to carry large flat loads, such as wood panels or surfboards, which may result in damage to the load or your vehicle.
- The load must always be secured to the crossbars first, with tie-down loops used as additional securing points when necessary. Tie-down loops are intended for additional securing points only. Do not use ratchet straps with tie-down loops. Check straps often to make sure the load remains securely attached.
