SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE — GASOLINE ENGINE
Your vehicle is equipped with an automatic oil change indicator system. The oil change indicator system will remind you that your vehicle needs to be taken in for scheduled maintenance.
Depending on engine operating conditions, the oil change indicator message will illuminate. This message indicates that your vehicle needs service. Operating conditions such as frequent short trips, towing a trailer, or very hot or cold ambient temperatures will affect when the "Change Engine Oil" or "Oil Change Required" message is displayed. Service your vehicle as soon as possible, within the next 500 miles (805 km).
On vehicles with an electronic instrument cluster display, the message "Oil Change Required" will appear and a single chime will sound, indicating that an oil change is necessary.
On vehicles without an instrument cluster display, the odometer in the instrument cluster will display a message and a single chime will sound, indicating that an oil change is necessary.
An authorized dealer will reset the oil change indicator message after completing the scheduled oil change. If the scheduled oil change is performed by anyone other than an authorized dealer, the message can be reset by referring to the steps described in the Instrument Cluster Display section for further information.
NOTE:
Never exceed oil change intervals of 10,000 miles (16,000 km), 12 months, or 350 engine hours of operation or idling, whichever occurs first. The 350 engine hours of operation or idling applies only to fleet customers.
Once a month or before a long trip:
- Check the engine oil level.
- Check the windshield washer fluid level.
- Check the tire pressure and inspect the tires for unusual wear or damage. Rotate the tires at the first sign of uneven wear.
- Check the fluid levels in the coolant reservoir, brake master cylinder, and power steering reservoir, and fill as necessary.
- Check the operation of all interior and exterior lights.
MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE
Refer to the maintenance schedule for the required maintenance intervals.

Lubricate the door hinges with white lithium grease twice a year to prevent premature wear.

1. Spark plug replacement interval is based on mileage only; do not apply calendar intervals.
