WARNING - Loose Objects
Do not place anything in the driver's footwell or under the front of the seat. Loose items in the driver's footwell area may interfere with the operation of the foot pedals.
WARNING - Seatback Upright Position
Do not press the manual seatback release lever without holding and controlling the seatback. The seatback will spring to the upright position and may strike you or other passengers.
WARNING - Driver's Responsibility for Passengers
The driver should instruct passengers to keep the seatback in the upright position whenever the vehicle is moving. If the seatback is reclined during a crash, the effectiveness of the restraint system will be significantly reduced.
CAUTION - Seat Cushion
Passengers should never sit on non-original seat cushions or seat pads. Passenger hips may slide under the lap belt area during a crash or sudden stop.
CAUTION - Driver's Seat
- Never attempt to adjust the seat while the vehicle is moving. This may result in loss of control of your vehicle.
- Do not allow anything to interfere with the normal position of the seatback. Storing objects against the seatback may result in serious or fatal injury in a sudden stop or collision.
- Sit as far back from the steering wheel as possible while still maintaining comfortable control of your vehicle. A distance of at least 10 inches between your chest and the steering wheel is recommended. Failure to do so may result in driver injury from airbag deployment.
WARNING - Rear Seatbacks
Always lock the rear seatback before driving. Failure to do so may result in passengers or objects being thrown forward and injuring vehicle occupants.
WARNING - Luggage and Cargo
Do not stack or pile luggage or cargo higher than the seatback in the cargo area. In an accident, cargo may strike and injure a passenger. If objects are large, heavy, or must be piled high, they must be secured in the cargo area.
WARNING - Cargo Area
Never allow passengers to ride in the cargo area under any circumstances. The cargo area is intended for luggage or cargo only.
WARNING - Unexpected Seat Movement
After adjusting a manually operated seat, always check that it is locked in place by moving forward and backward. A sudden or unexpected movement of the driver's seat may result in loss of vehicle control.
WARNING - Seat Adjustment
- Do not adjust the seat while wearing the seat belt. Moving the seat forward will cause strong pressure on the abdomen.
- Do not place your hand near the underside of the seat or the seat track when adjusting the seat. Your hand may become caught in the seat mechanism.
WARNING! Small Objects
Be extremely careful when removing small objects that are stuck under the seats or between the seat and center console. Your hands may be cut or injured by sharp edges of the seat mechanism.
