Description

The ECM (electrochromic inside rear view mirror) is designed to darken the mirror to reflect light from vehicles behind at night, so the driver is not dazzled. The front sensor detects ambient brightness, while the rear sensor detects the intensity of reflected light, so the mirror reflectance is adjusted within the range of 7% to 85%. However, when reverse gear is engaged, the function stops operating.

   The forward-facing sensor determines whether the surrounding environment is dark enough for the mirror to perform its function.

   The rear sensor detects glare from light reflected from vehicles behind.
