Check this by performing the procedure below to confirm that the ECM operates normally.

   Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.

   Cover the front sensor.

   Direct light at the rear view sensor.

   The ECM should dim as soon as the rear sensor detects the light.

   When reverse gear is engaged, the ECM must not dim. When light is directed at both the front and rear sensors, the ECM must not dim.
