Description

The windshield deicer system prevents the wiper blades from freezing in winter. It consists of a windshield deicer element in the lower part of the windshield, a switch, and a relay. The Body Control Module (BCM) receives an input signal from the deicer switch and then controls the relay. The operating conditions are the same as for the rear window defogger system. Since the "L" terminal of the generator is energized when the deicer switch is turned on, the deicer output is on for 20 minutes.
