Recommended Lubricants and Capacities
To achieve proper engine and transmission performance and durability, use only lubricants of the proper quality. Correct lubricants also help improve engine efficiency, which results in better fuel economy.
These lubricants and fluids are recommended for use in your vehicle.

CAUTION
Always keep the area around the filler cap, drain plug, or dipstick clean before checking or draining any lubricant. This is especially important in dusty or sandy areas and when the vehicle is used on unpaved roads. Cleaning the cap and dipstick area prevents dirt and debris from entering the engine and other components, which could be damaged.
Engine oil viscosity (thickness) affects fuel economy and cold-weather operation (engine starting and oil flow). Engine oils with lower viscosity may provide better fuel economy and cold-temperature performance; however, higher-viscosity engine oils are required for adequate lubrication in hot weather. Using oil of any viscosity other than the recommended one may cause engine damage.
When selecting oil, consider the temperature range in which your vehicle will be operated until the next oil change. Refer to the table to select the recommended oil viscosity.
