Seat Belt Care
Seat belt systems must never be disassembled or modified. In addition, care must be taken to ensure that the seat belts and seat belt anchorages are not damaged by the seat, seat hinges, doors, or other interference.
Periodic Inspection
All seat belts should be periodically inspected for wear or damage of any kind. Any damaged parts must be replaced as soon as possible.
Keep Belts Clean and Dry
Seat belts must be kept clean and dry. If the belts become dirty, they may be cleaned with a mild soap solution and warm water. Do not use bleach, dye, strong detergents, or abrasives, as they may damage and weaken the webbing.
When to Replace Seat Belts
All seat belt assemblies in use at the time of an accident must be replaced if the vehicle was involved in a collision. This should be done even if no damage is visible. For additional questions regarding seat belt operation, contact an authorized Kia dealer.
WARNING - Seat Belt Pinching
Make sure the belt webbing and/or buckle are not pinched or trapped in the rear seat when returning the rear seatback to the upright position. A pinched or trapped belt webbing/buckle may be damaged and may fail during a collision or sudden stop.
WARNING
Seat belts can become hot in a closed vehicle on a sunny day. They could burn passengers, including infants and children.
