To achieve proper engine and transmission performance and durability, use only lubricants of the proper quality. Proper lubricants also contribute to engine efficiency, which results in improved fuel economy. These lubricants and fluids are recommended for use in your vehicle.

Recommended SAE Viscosity Index

Engine oil viscosity affects fuel economy and cold weather operation (engine starting and engine oil flow). Engine oils with lower viscosity may provide better fuel economy and cold weather performance; however, higher viscosity engine oils are necessary for adequate lubrication in hot weather. Using oil of any viscosity other than the recommended may cause engine damage. When selecting oil, consider the temperature range in which your vehicle will be operated until the next oil change.
