Driving on wet roads

~1min read

Aquaplaning

Above a certain water depth on the road, aquaplaning can occur even when

  • you are driving at low speed
  • the tread depth of the tyres is sufficient

Therefore, do not drive in ruts and brake carefully.

Driving through flooded road sections

Be aware that vehicles ahead or approaching from the opposite direction generate waves. The maximum permissible water depth may then be exceeded.

You must observe these notes without fail. Otherwise, you risk damaging the engine, the electrical system and the transmission.

If you have to drive through a section of road where water has collected,

  • Check that the water depth does not exceed 25 cm when the water is calm
  • Drive at walking pace.
