WARNING

Remove the key from the ignition switch only when the vehicle is stopped. Once the key is removed, you can no longer steer the vehicle.

Never leave children unattended inside the vehicle. They could release the electric parking brake. This could cause an accident resulting in serious or fatal injuries.

WARNING

Make sure the exhaust system never comes into contact with easily flammable materials, such as dry grass or petrol. Do not park the vehicle on fields of dry grass or stubble. Otherwise, the hot exhaust system may ignite these materials and set the vehicle on fire.

To ensure the vehicle is properly secured, the following must be done:

  • apply the electric parking brake
  • engage first gear or reverse gear (vehicles with a manual transmission)
  • move the selector lever to P and make sure the transmission indicator in the multifunction display shows P (vehicles with an automatic transmission)
  • remove the key
  • on a steep incline, turn the front wheels towards the kerb
