Intelligent Light System

~2min read

Important notes

The Intelligent Light System is a headlamp system that adapts automatically to driving conditions and weather conditions. It offers extended functions that improve road illumination depending on vehicle speed or weather conditions, for example. The system includes Active Cornering Light, Intersection Light, Motorway Light and Extended Function Fog Light. The system only operates in darkness.

You can activate or deactivate the "Intelligent Light System" function via the on-board computer.

Active cornering light

Eclairage actif dans les virages

With the active cornering light, the headlamps follow the steering movements. Important areas continue to be illuminated while driving. Pedestrians, cyclists and animals can thus be detected earlier.

Active: when the lights are switched on.

Intersection light

Eclairage d'intersection

The intersection light considerably widens the lighting angle of the section of road the vehicle is entering, making it easier to see sharp bends, for example. The intersection light can only be activated when the low beam headlamps are on.

Active:

  • If you switch on the turn signals or turn the steering wheel while driving slower than 40 km/h.
  • When you turn the steering wheel between 40 km/h and 70 km/h.

Inactive: as soon as you drive faster than 40 km/h, switch off the turn signals or return the wheels to straight-ahead position.

The intersection light can remain on for up to 3 minutes, but then switches off automatically.

Motorway light

Eclairage d'autoroute

The motorway light increases the lighting range.

Active:

  • as soon as you drive faster than 110 km/h and have covered more than 1,000 m without significant steering wheel movement
  • as soon as you drive faster than 130 km/h

Inactive: if you drive slower than 80 km/h after activation.

Extended function fog light

Eclairage antibrouillard à fonction étendue

The extended function fog light reduces self-dazzle and improves illumination of the edge of the road.

Active: if you drive slower than 70 km/h and switch on the rear fog lamp.

Inactive: when you drive faster than 100 km/h or switch off the rear fog lamp after activation.
