Notes on travel abroad

~1min read

Adjusting the low beams to the symmetric position for travel abroad: you must switch to symmetric low beams in countries where the side of the road differs from that of the country of registration. This measure prevents dazzling oncoming road users. When the headlamps are adjusted to the symmetric position, the edge of the road is no longer illuminated as far or as high.

Adjust the headlamps before crossing the border into one of these countries, as close to the border as possible.

Adjusting the low beams back to the asymmetric position on your return: readjust the headlamps to the asymmetric position after crossing the border, as close to the border as possible.

When the low beams are adjusted to the symmetric position, the motorway light function and the extended-function fog light (Intelligent Light System) are not available.
