Exterior mirrors
Adjusting the exterior mirrors
WARNINGThe exterior mirrors give a reduced image. Objects are actually closer than they appear. You may misjudge the distance to vehicles behind you and cause an accident, for example when changing lanes. Therefore, check that the actual distance to vehicles behind you is sufficient by looking over your shoulder.

- Make sure the key is in position 1 or 2 in the ignition switch.
- Press button 1 to select the left mirror or button 2 to select the right mirror.
The indicator light built into the corresponding button lights up red.
The indicator light goes out after a certain time. While it is lit, you can adjust the corresponding exterior mirror with button 3.
- Press the top, bottom, left or right side of adjustment button 3 until the mirror is correctly adjusted. Make sure you have a clear view of the traffic.
The exterior mirrors are aspherical and therefore provide a wider field of view.
The exterior mirrors are heated automatically when the rear window heating is on and the outside temperature is low.
Electric folding and unfolding of the exterior mirrors

- Make sure the key is in position 1 or 2 in the ignition switch.
- Briefly press button 1.
Both exterior mirrors fold in or unfold.
Make sure the mirrors are fully extended. Otherwise, they may vibrate while driving.Resetting the exterior mirrors
After the battery has been disconnected or discharged, you must reset the exterior mirrors. Otherwise, the exterior mirrors will not fold in, even if the 'Fold exterior mirrors when locking' function is activated in the on-board computer.
- Make sure the key is in position 1 in the ignition switch.
- Briefly press button 1.
Automatic folding and unfolding of the exterior mirrors
When the 'Fold exterior mirrors when locking' function is activated in the on-board computer,
- the exterior mirrors fold in automatically as soon as you lock the vehicle from the outside
- the exterior mirrors unfold automatically as soon as you unlock the vehicle and open the driver's or front passenger door
Realigning the exterior mirrors
If an exterior mirror has been knocked out of position forwards or backwards, proceed as follows:
- Vehicles with manually folding exterior mirrors: Move the exterior mirror back into the correct position by hand.
- Vehicles with electrically folding exterior mirrors: Briefly press the mirror folding button several times in succession until you hear a click.
The mirror housing has clicked back into place, and you can adjust the exterior mirror as usual.
