Fold down the rear seatbacks
The rear seatback is split into two sections. Both sections can be folded down.
If necessary, remove the parcel shelf.
Press and hold the latch, then lower the head restraints.
Raise the rear armrest.

Place the seat belts of the outer seats in the belt guides.
Pull the release handle on one side or both sides, and fold the seatbacks down onto the seat cushion.

To raise the seatbacks, lift them and guide them upright until they lock audibly into place.
Make sure the seat belts of the outer seats are routed into the corresponding belt guides.

The rear seatbacks are only locked when the two red markers on the side near the release handle are not visible.
Caution
Never drive the vehicle if the seatbacks are not properly locked in position, as this increases the risk of injury or of damage to the load or the vehicle in the event of hard braking or a collision.

The center seat belt may lock if the seatback is raised too quickly. To unlock the retractor, pull the seat belt in or out approximately 20 mm, then let it go.
