Front seat belts

The front seat belts are fitted with pyrotechnic pretensioners and force limiters.

These systems improve safety for the front seats in frontal collisions. Depending on the severity of the impact, the pyrotechnic pretensioner instantly tightens the belts and pulls them against the occupant's body.

Seat belt pretensioners are active when the ignition is switched on.

The force limiter reduces the pressure of the belt on the passenger's chest, improving safety.

On five-door versions, the belt is fitted with a guide that allows the belt to be positioned as close as possible to the belt guide.

Fastening

• Pull the belt, then insert the tongue into the buckle.
• Check that the belt is latched by pulling on it.

Removal

Press the red button on the buckle.

Height adjustment

• To lower the anchorage point, squeeze module A and slide it downward.
• To raise the anchor point, move module A upward.

Unfastened seat belt warning light in the instrument cluster

If the driver does not fasten the seat belt
after switching on the ignition, the corresponding warning light will come on.

If 20 km/h is exceeded for 2 minutes, the warning light flashes and a progressive audible signal sounds. After 2 minutes, the warning light stays on until the driver fastens the seat belt.

The warning light comes on if one or more passengers have not fastened their seat belts.

On the centre panel, warning light 1 or 2 lights up red if the seat belt is not fastened or has been unfastened.

With the engine running, if a front passenger unfastens their seat belt, the corresponding warning light 1 or 2 lights up red, an audible signal sounds and a message appears on the multifunction display.
