Unfastened seat belt warning light panel

After switching on the ignition, the corresponding warning lights 3, 4 and 5 come on for about 30 seconds if the seat belt is not fastened.
With the engine running, if a rear passenger unfastens their seat belt, the corresponding warning light 3, 4 or 5 lights up red, an audible signal sounds and a message appears on the multifunction display.
The driver must make sure that passengers use the seat belts correctly and that they are fastened before starting a journey. Regardless of seat position, always fasten seat belts, even for short journeys. Do not twist the buckle, as this may cause the belt to malfunction. If the seats are fitted with armrests *, the lower part of the belt must pass under the armrest. Seat belts are fitted with a retractor that automatically adjusts the belt length to the body. The belt retracts automatically when not in use. Before and after use, make sure the belt is correctly retracted. The lower part of the belt must be positioned as low as possible on the hips. The upper part of the belt must pass across the shoulder. Retractors are fitted with an automatic locking mechanism in the event of a collision, sudden braking or vehicle rollover. The mechanism can be unlocked by pulling the belt sharply and then releasing it.For the seat belt to perform its function:
- it must be worn as close to the body as possible,
- it must be used by one adult only,
- it must not be perforated or frayed,
- it must be pulled out in front of you, checking that it is not twisted,
- it must not be modified, as this may impair its performance.
After folding down a seatback or moving the rear bench, check that the belt is correctly positioned and retracted.
Recommendations for carrying children:
- use appropriate child seats for children under 12 years old or under 150 cm in height.
- do not use the belt guide * when installing a child seat.
- never use one seat belt for several passengers.
- never carry a child on your lap.
After a collision, have the seat belt system checked and, if necessary, replaced at a PEUGEOT network dealer or at a specialist workshop.
