1 - Checking the circuit for leaks

Replace the expansion tank valve with adapter M.S. 554-01.

Connect tool M.S. 554-07 to it.

Warm up the engine, then stop it.

Pump to pressurize the circuit.

Stop pumping at 0.1 bar below the valve's opening pressure.

The pressure must not drop; otherwise, look for the leak.

Gradually unscrew the fitting of tool M.S. 554-07 to depressurize the cooling circuit, then remove tool M.S. 554-01 and refit the expansion tank valve fitted with a new gasket.

2 - Checking the valve opening pressure

Coolant passing through the expansion tank valve requires replacing it.

Fit tool M.S. 554-06 to pump M.S. 554-07 and place the valve to be checked on it.

Increase the pressure; it must stabilize at the valve's opening pressure, check tolerance ± 0.1 bar.
