Rim identification marking comes in two forms:

  • stamped marking for steel rims,
  • cast marking for aluminium rims.

It indicates the main dimensional characteristics of the rim.

This marking may be:

  • complete, for example 5 1/2 J 144 CH 36;
  • simplified, for example 5 1/2 J14.

The wheel bolts are located on a 100 mm diameter circle (four mounting bolts).

The maximum runout is measured on the rim edge (7).
