WARNING- For towing, refer to the law in force in each country.
- Never use the transmission tubes as a tow attachment point.
- Use the towing points for road towing only.
- Do not use the towing points to pull the vehicle out of a ditch or to lift the vehicle directly or indirectly.
- For vehicles equipped with an automatic gearbox: tow the vehicle with a flatbed truck or with the front wheels raised. If this is not possible, towing may exceptionally be carried out at a speed below 20 km/h and over a distance limited to 30 km maximum (selector lever in position N).
- If the vehicle has a flat battery, the steering column remains locked. In this case, reconnect a battery or power source to unlock the airbag ECU with the diagnostic tool (see Airbag and pretensioners chapter), which unlocks the steering column.
- If it is not possible to unlock the airbag ECU, the front of the vehicle must be lifted.
