Speed limiter

Function overview

The desired maximum speed can be set using the speed limiter switch. The speed limiter prevents the vehicle speed from exceeding the set speed.

Setting the speed limiter

1KR engine

1. To turn on the speed limiter, press the "ON-OFF" button.

Press the button again to turn off the speed limiter.

2. Accelerate or decelerate to the desired speed, then press the lever down to set the desired maximum speed.

HM01 engine

1. To turn on the speed limiter, press the "ON-OFF" button.

Press the button again to turn off the speed limiter.

2. Pull the lever toward you to set the speed limiter.

The last set maximum speed is restored. To change the set maximum speed: When the speed limiter is set, the "OFF" indicator turns off.

Changing the set speed

   Increase speed

   Decrease speed

Hold the lever in this position until the desired speed is reached.

The set speed can be fine-tuned by lightly pushing the lever up or down and releasing it.

Canceling and resuming the speed limiter

1KR engine

   Canceling
   Pull the lever toward you to cancel the speed limiter.

   Resuming
   To resume the speed limiter, push the lever up.

HM01 engine

Canceling/Resuming
Pull the lever toward you to cancel the speed limiter. Pull the lever toward you again to resume the speed limiter.

■ When setting the speed limiter If the vehicle speed is below 30 km/h when setting, the desired maximum speed is set to 30 km/h.

■ Exceeding the set speed In the following situations, when the vehicle speed exceeds the set speed, the display characters flash:

• When the accelerator pedal is fully depressed
• While driving downhill (a warning buzzer will sound)

■ When the speed limiter is operating (1KR engine only) When the speed limiter is operating, related information is shown on the driving monitor display. If you switch to another display screen, the speed limiter information will be shown again after 6 seconds.

WARNING

■ To prevent accidental activation of the speed limiter Turn the speed limiter off using the "ON-OFF" button when it is not in use.

■ Situations in which the speed limiter should not be used Do not use the speed limiter in the following situations.

If this occurs, you may lose control of the vehicle, which could cause an accident resulting in serious injury or death.

• On slippery roads, such as roads covered with rain, ice or snow
• On steep downhill slopes
• When towing a trailer
