Removing

Gearbox is installed.
  • Remove cover for parking lock -1- → Chapter.
Removing and installing parking lock
  • Remove bolts -2- and pull parking lock -1- off dowel sleeves -arrows-.

If parking lock cannot be removed by hand:

  • Apply multi-purpose tool -VW 771- with extractor tool -VW 771/37- behind parking lock and remove parking lock by pulling on alternate sides.
  • Always renew bolts -2-.

Installing

  • Fit parking lock -1- onto dowel sleeves -arrows-.
  • Screw in new bolts -2-, specified torque 20 N·m + 90° further.
  • Install cover for parking lock -1- → Chapter.
