Operating Principle

The speech recognition system allows you to operate vehicle equipment without taking your hands off the steering wheel.

The commands are the names of the menu items shown on the control display. These items can be selected by voice instead of with the controller.

The voice control system converts your commands into control signals, which are then transmitted to the relevant systems, and provides feedback and questions.

The voice control system includes a special microphone located next to the interior rear view mirror.

Requirements

Set the iDrive language to the language in which commands will be given. Refer to Language settings.

Symbol used

{...} Text in braces indicates voice commands.

{{...}} Text in double braces indicates responses from the voice control system.
