Programmable steering wheel buttons

You can program the specified buttons yourself.

This setting is stored in the memory for the key currently in use.

iDrive operating principles

1. Press the button.

The main menu opens.

2. Press the controller to open the menu.
3. Select "Settings" and press the controller.

4. Select "Steering wheel buttons" and press the controller.

A list of various functions appears on the display:

► "Voice output of nav. system" – voice output of the navigation system

► "Air circulation on / off"

You can shut off the outside air supply, see subsection Automatic Air Quality Control System (AUC).

► "Mute on / off"

Muting the audio system

► "Display on / off"

Switching the control display on and off

► "Telephone list" – phone directory

Shows (removes from the display) the list of numbers that was last displayed

► "Next entertainment source"

Switches the audio source

5. Select the function and press the controller.

6. Select the programmable button (if there are several) and press the controller.

The programmed button can now be used to control the selected function.

Function control

Press the corresponding button on the steering wheel.

If the button is assigned the function "Voice output of nav. system":

► To switch voice output on and off: press and hold the button.

► To repeat the last announcement: briefly press the button.
