Selecting the correct place for transporting children

Never leave children unattended in the vehicle. Their thoughtless actions may endanger themselves and others.◄

In principle, all seats in the vehicle, except the driver's seat, are suitable for installing universal child restraint systems for all age groups.

Each group has its own system.

Children must ride in the rear

Road statistics show:

the rear seat is the safest place for children.

Children under 12 years of age and under 150 cm tall may only be transported on the rear seat using a suitable restraint system. Otherwise, the risk of injury in an accident increases significantly.◄

As an exception – on the front passenger seat

If you nevertheless decide to install a child restraint system on the front passenger seat, be sure to deactivate the front and side airbags on that side. Deployed airbags can seriously injure a child, even when a child restraint system is used.◄

The front passenger airbags can only be deactivated if the corresponding on/off switch is fitted.◄
