Characteristics of Winter Tires

For winter driving conditions, BMW recommends winter tires. So-called all-season tires marked M+S are better suited for winter conditions than summer tires, but as a rule they are still less effective than winter tires.

Speed Limit Compliance

To avoid tire damage and dangerous situations, never exceed the maximum speed permitted for the respective winter tires.◄

If the maximum permitted speed of the vehicle exceeds the speed rating of the winter tires, a corresponding speed plate must be within the driver's field of view. This plate can be obtained from the tire dealer or a BMW Service Center.
