Operation

Adaptive Cornering Lights

~1min read

Operating Principle

The adaptive cornering light system flexibly controls the vehicle headlights, improving road illumination. The light beam emitted by the headlights follows the direction of travel depending on the steering wheel angle and other parameters.

Activating the system

Set the switch to position 1.

Adaptive cornering light and automatic headlight control are activated.

To prevent the headlights from dazzling drivers of oncoming vehicles, adaptive cornering light does not operate when reversing, and the headlights are swiveled toward the front passenger while the vehicle is parked.

Malfunctions

The LED next to the automatic headlight control symbol flashes – the adaptive cornering light is faulty.

Have the system checked at a BMW service center as soon as possible.
