Seat belts provide protection for the driver and passengers during sudden acceleration or deceleration of the vehicle.

Always fasten your seat belt before every trip.

Unbelted occupants pose a threat to all other passengers and to themselves in the event of a crash.

A seat belt is intended for one person only; only one person may use it at a time.

Seat belts are intended for persons 12 years of age or older and at least 150 cm (59 in) tall.

Periodically inspect all seat belt components for damage and proper operation.

Components with severe damage must be replaced. After a crash, replace the seat belts and deployed seat belt pretensioners at a service station.

Make sure the belts are not damaged by footwear or sharp objects and are not pinched. Keep dirt out of the belt retractor mechanism.

Seat Belt Load Limiters

On the front seats, they reduce occupant loading by damping seat belt webbing movement in the event of a collision.

Seat Belt Pretensioners

In a frontal collision or rear impact of sufficient severity, the seat belts are automatically tensioned.

Improper handling (for example, when removing or installing belts or belt buckles) may cause the pretensioners to deploy and creates a risk of injury.

Illumination of the indicator indicates deployment of the seat belt pretensioners.

Deployed seat belt pretensioners must be replaced at a service station. Seat belt pretensioners are single-use devices.

Do not use or install accessories or other objects that may interfere with the operation of the seat belt pretensioners. Any modification of the seat belt pretensioner components is not permitted and will void the vehicle's operating approval.
