Anti-slip regulation (ASR) and electronic stability program (ESP)
These systems work together with and complement the ABS.
The ASR system optimises traction to prevent wheel spin by acting on the brakes of the driven wheels and on the engine. It also improves directional stability of the vehicle when accelerating.
If the vehicle's path differs from the path intended by the driver, the ESP system acts automatically on the brake of one or more wheels and on the engine to bring the vehicle back onto the intended path, within the limits of the laws of physics.

Contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop to have the systems checked.
The ASR/ESP systems provide added safety during normal driving, but they must not encourage the driver to take additional risks or drive at excessive speeds.
These systems operate provided that the manufacturer's recommendations are followed regarding the wheels (tyres and rims), braking components, electronic components, and fitting and servicing procedures by the CITROËN network or a qualified workshop. After an impact, have these systems checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
