Braking assistance systems
A set of complementary systems to help you brake safely and effectively in emergency situations:
- The anti-lock braking system (ABS),
- The electronic brake force distribution (EBD),
- The emergency brake assist (EBA).
Associated systems that improve the stability and handling of your vehicle when braking, especially on poor or slippery road surfaces.
ActivationThe anti-lock system operates automatically when there is a risk of the wheels locking.
Normal operation of the ABS may be felt as slight vibrations through the brake pedal.
In an emergency braking situation, press the brake pedal very firmly and never release the pressure. Malfunction
This warning lamp lighting up, accompanied by
an audible signal and a message on the instrument panel display, indicates a fault in the anti-lock braking system that may cause loss of vehicle control when braking.
This warning lamp lighting up together
with the brake and ABS warning lamps, accompanied by an audible signal and a message on the instrument panel display, indicates a fault in the electronic brake force distribution system that may cause loss of vehicle control when braking.
In both cases, consult a Citroën dealer.
When changing wheels (tyres and rims), make sure they comply with the manufacturer's specifications. Emergency braking assistanceA system which, in an emergency, reaches the optimum braking pressure more quickly, thereby reducing the stopping distance.
ActivationIt is triggered according to the speed at which the brake pedal is pressed.
This results in lower brake pedal resistance and more effective braking.
In an emergency braking situation, press the brake pedal very firmly and never release the pressure.Test yourself
