Rain-Sensing Wipers — If Equipped
In this manual: KNOW YOUR VEHICLE
~1min read
This feature senses rain or snow on the windshield and automatically activates the wipers. Turn the end of the multifunction lever to one of the four fixed positions to activate this feature.
The sensitivity of the system can be adjusted using the multifunction lever. The first wiper delay position is the least sensitive, and the fourth wiper delay position is the most sensitive.
The third wiper delay position should be used in normal rain conditions.
NOTE:
- The rain-sensing feature will not operate when the wiper switch is in the low or high speed position.
- The rain-sensing feature may not operate properly if ice or dry salt is present on the windshield surface.
- Use of Rain-X or products containing wax or silicone may reduce the effectiveness of the rain sensor.
- The rain sensor feature can be turned on and off using the Uconnect system.
The Rain Sensing system has wiper blade and wiper arm protection features, and will not operate under the following conditions:
- Low Ambient Temperature — When the ignition is first switched to the ON position, the rain sensing system will not operate until the wiper switch is moved, vehicle speed exceeds 3 mph (5 km/h), or outside air temperature is above 32°F (0°C).
- Transmission in NEUTRAL — With the ignition on and the automatic transmission in the NEUTRAL position, the Rain Sensing system will not operate until the wiper switch is moved, vehicle speed exceeds 3 mph (5 km/h), or the gear selector is moved out of the NEUTRAL position.
- Remote Start Mode Lockout — On vehicles equipped with remote start, the rain sensing wipers do not operate when the vehicle is in remote start mode.
