Disarming the Security Alarm

~1min read

The vehicle security alarm can be disarmed using one of the following methods:

  • Press the unlock button on the key fob.
  • Grasp the Passive Entry door handle to open the door.
  • Turn the ignition from the OFF position to disarm the security alarm.

NOTE:

  • The driver door key cylinder and the liftgate button on the key fob cannot arm or disarm the vehicle security alarm. Using the door key cylinder when the alarm is armed will sound the alarm when the door is opened.
  • If the Passive Entry is used to unlock the liftgate (if equipped), the vehicle security alarm is disarmed and the remaining vehicle doors will stay locked, unless all doors are programmed to unlock on the first press in the Uconnect Settings.
  • When the vehicle security alarm is armed, the interior power door lock switches will not unlock the doors.

The vehicle security alarm is designed to protect your vehicle. However, you may create conditions that cause the alarm to activate falsely. If one of the arming sequences described earlier occurs, the vehicle security alarm will arm whether or not you are in the vehicle. If you remain in the vehicle and open a door, the alarm will sound. In this case, disarm the Vehicle Security Alarm.

If the vehicle security alarm is armed and the battery is disconnected, the vehicle security alarm will remain armed when the battery is reconnected; the exterior lights will flash and the horn will sound. In this case, disarm the Vehicle Security Alarm.
