Anti-theft protection
The Uconnect Radio is equipped with an anti-theft system based on the exchange of information between the Uconnect Radio and the electronic control unit (Body Computer) fitted on the vehicle.
This system ensures maximum security and avoids having to enter the secret code after every disconnection of the Uconnect Radio power supply.
If the check is successful, the Uconnect Radio will start working; if the comparison codes are not the same, or if the electronic control unit (Body Computer) is replaced, the unit will inform the user that the secret code must be entered, following the procedure described in the next section.
Entering the secret code
When the Uconnect Radio is switched on, if a code is requested, the display shows the words "Radio code" for about 2 seconds, followed by four dashes "- - - -".
The secret code consists of four digits from 1 to 6, each corresponding to one of the dashes.
To enter the first digit of the code, press the corresponding preset station button (from 1 to 6).
Enter the other digits of the code in the same way.
If the four digits are not entered within 20 seconds, the display shows "Enter code - - - -".
This event is not counted as an incorrect code entry.
After entering the fourth digit (within 20 seconds), the Uconnect Radio starts working.
If an incorrect code is entered, the Uconnect Radio emits an audible signal and the display shows the words "Radio blocked/wait" to indicate that the correct code must be entered.
Each time the user enters an incorrect code, the waiting time increases progressively (1 min, 2 min, 4 min, 8 min, 16 min, 30 min, 1 h, 2 h, 4 h, 8 h, 16 h, 24 h) up to a maximum of 24 hours.
The waiting time is shown on the display with the message "Radio blocked/ wait". After the message disappears, the code entry procedure can be started again.
Radio passport
This is the document certifying ownership of the Uconnect Radio. The radio passport shows the Uconnect Radio model, the serial number and the secret code.
WARNING: Keep the radio passport in a safe place so that you can provide the data to the competent authorities in case the Uconnect Radio is stolen.
If the radio passport is lost, contact the Fiat Service Network, bringing an identity document and the vehicle ownership documents.
