Anti-theft protection
The radio is equipped with an anti-theft system based on the exchange of information between the radio and the electronic control unit (Body Computer) installed in the vehicle. This system provides maximum security and does not require entering a secret code after each disconnection of the radio power supply.
If the check is successful, the radio starts operating. If the compared codes do not match, or if the electronic control unit (Body Computer) has been replaced, the radio will ask the user to enter the secret code according to the procedure described in the next section.
Entering the secret code
After switching on the radio, if a code is requested, the display shows "Radio code" for about 2 seconds, followed by four dashes "----".
The secret code consists of four digits from 1 to 6, each corresponding to one dash.
To enter the first digit of the code, press one of the station preset buttons (1 to 6). Enter the remaining digits in the same way. If the four digits are not entered within 20 seconds, the display shows "Enter code - - - -". This case is not treated as an incorrect code entry.
After entering the fourth digit (within 20 seconds), the radio starts operating.
If an incorrect code is entered, the radio emits an audible signal and the display shows "Radio blocked/wait", informing the user that the correct code must be entered.
Each time an incorrect code is entered, the waiting time increases (1 min, 2 min, 4 min, 8 min, 16 min, 30 min, 1 h, 2 h, 4 h, 8 h, 16 h, 24 h), up to a maximum of 24 hours. The remaining waiting time is shown on the display together with the message "Radio blocked/wait". Once the message disappears, you can start the code entry procedure again.
Radio passport
This is a document certifying ownership of the radio. The radio passport contains the radio model, serial number and secret code.
WARNING Keep the radio passport in a safe place so that the correct data can be given to the authorities in case the radio is stolen.
If the radio passport is lost, contact an authorised Fiat dealer, bringing an identity document and documents confirming vehicle ownership.
