General Procedures - Differential Fluid Level Check

Check

1. 1
   Position the vehicle in NEUTRAL on the lift.
   Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).

   Remove and discard the RDU fill plug.

   

3. 3
   If the fluid level is low, inspect the RDU and add clean RDU fluid. The RDU fluid level must be within 2 mm (0.079 in) of the bottom of the fill plug hole.

   If the RDU is empty, fill it with clean RDU fluid.
   Refer to: Specifications (205-02 Rear Drive Axle/Differential, Specifications).

   

5. 5
   Install the RDU fill plug.
   Torque: 21 lb-ft (29 N·m)
