Steering Wheel Holder

Removal

  1. NOTICE: Do not rotate the steering column while the steering column shaft is disconnected or damaged, as this may damage the internal clockspring.

    Using a suitable holding device, hold the steering wheel in the straight-ahead position.
    Use common equipment: steering wheel holder
  2. Remove and discard the steering column shaft-to-steering gear bolt.
    Torque: 25 lb-ft (34 N·m)
  3. Remove and discard the steering column shaft bolt.
    Torque: 25 lb-ft (34 N·m)

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
