Removal

1. 1
   Refer to: Engine Cooling System Safety Precautions (100-00 General Information, Description and Operation).

   Relieve the cooling system pressure by slowly turning the surge tank cap 2-3 turns, then remove the surge tank cap.

   Pinch the lower surge tank hose and drain the engine coolant from the surge tank.
   Use common equipment: Hose clamp(s)

   • Release the clamp and disconnect the lower coolant hose. Press the tabs and disconnect the upper coolant hoses.

   • Release the tab, remove the bolt and the surge tank.
     Torque: 80 lb-in (9 N·m)

   

Installation

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
